Just was looking back at the big trip in 03' can't wait to get back up there.

Dad, my first and last trip to Dancing Loon Island and your cabin was probably the best vacation of my life. I got to relax and spend quality time with you, Mom and my best friend. Starting the trip with a 5 1/2 hour boat ride in pouring rain and terrible wind wasn't what I had planned, but spending it with you was all too easy. Little did we know that the road we had just driven across was about to be flooded out for the next 7-8 days. Arriving at your island and seeing your cabin for the first time in person ... it seemed like a palace of hard work and achievement ... and truly something that only you and your close friends could be capable of achieving in a lifetime. I've never felt prouder in my life than I did that day when I first saw the cabin in person. I knew then that you had achieved yet another of your dreams in life. The things you have done up there are amazing and the difference in the lives of others you have made is something to be very proud of. Love, your son.

It's been 2 years since my last entry, so thought I should confirm my continued existence. It's not only the passage of time, but the fact that you don't remember being best man at my wedding that prompts the urge to pinch myself. I've been known to look at the former Phyllis Garnatz of Yetter and wonder if that wedding ever DID take place. After all, I never did qualify as a prize. And then my house is invaded by our children and grandchildren and that beats a good pinch in the rear anyday. Donald, your website continues to be on the top of my quality sites list.
